A group of public housing residents in Leith, Edinburgh, presented planning proposals to the public landlord, resulting in the proposals’ implementation in 2018. Under the arrangement between them, I facilitated the consultation workshop by providing the toolkit for having a structured discussion. A focus group of residents attended each reporting and brainstorming session to propose the installation of streetlights, prohibition signs on dog fouling, and handrails within the housing complex. The example shown here covers the case of handrail, which is documented in the case study chapter of my doctoral thesis.
